By focusing in on just two suffixes, your students will surely grasp the meaning of new words with these suffixes when they encounter them. After you conduct a short review of the meaning of these suffixes, students will read, write, and organize a list of words by their suffix. Once they grasp that these suffixes have opposite meanings, your students will write an antonym for each word on the list. They will then use the definition clues to complete a puzzle and choose the challenge word that names each category of words. Answer key provided.
