This printable test gives students practice in reading and comprehending nonfiction texts. Students read a one-page article and answer six to eight questions, similar to ones they would encounter on standardized tests. The questions assess students' comprehension of reading skills, such as identifying the main idea, distinguishing between fact and opinion, evaluating the author's purpose, and drawing conclusions. Finally, students use their answers to solve a riddle.
