Create a firefighter's hat using the simple pattern included. Enlarge the pattern on 12 x 18 red construction paper and cut out and fold paper where indicated. Students then glue yellow Official Fire Safety Inspector badge to the center of the hat. Also included is a Fire Safety Certificate. Certificate includes a space for the student's name and two lines to write what they have done to demonstrate fire safety. There is also a space for the teacher's signature and date.

Teaching Tips

Have a week long celebration of fire safety. Each day plan a different activity including making a firefighter's hat. This would be a perfect activity to complete the morning real firefighters come into the classroom to talk about fire safety. Booking
