Start the winter season with this clever math idea to help students practice their skills. Pattern includes four different snowmen that can be cut from white paper. Label each one with a math fact or a word problem. Tape the snowmen to popsicle sticks and write the answers on the bottom of the sticks. Decorate a shallow box with wrapping paper and cut slits in box. Sticks are then placed in box hiding the answers.

Teaching Tips

Use the snowmen to create several matching games for younger children. Color their hats and mittens different colors and have the students match the colors. Enlarge the graphics and use them to decorate a bulletin board or the door of the classroom. Sn
