Step squarely into shapes with this fun activity that gives children practice identifying and drawing shapes!  Begin by reviewing the basic shapes (circle, square, triangle, oval, diamond, and rectangle) with children, pointing out similarities and differences between the shapes. Then rev up students' imaginations by asking them to describe and then compare objects in their environment. (For example, the teacher's desk and a student's desk have four sides and four corners, but one is shaped like a square and one is shaped like a rectangle.)
