Reading Response for Fiction Graphic Organizer: Tell It Again! (identifying plot structure)
Students retell a story, using the main events in the correct order. See Full Product Description.
Students retell a story, using the main events in the correct order. Ask students: Have you ever heard someone retell the storyline of a book or movie? Was it difficult to follow the plot? Why? Explain that retellings can be hard to follow if main events are left out or told out of order, or if too many details are included. Story retellings are most successful when the speaker recounts the most important parts in the order in which they occur.
Have students complete this organizer in pairs to encourage discussion of key events and how they fit into the plot sequence and structure.
