Teaching Tips

Use thumbprint graphs to practice math skills like counting, ordering, and addition. Ask students: How many fingerprints match the arch pattern? the whorl? the loop? Which fingerprint pattern is most common in our class? Go further to look at handedness. Students can count, record, and compare the number of left-handed and righthanded classmates.
