Product Details

Students make size comparisons in this Spanish language minibook.  Ask students to choose an object in the classroom. Then assign partners and have them use comparative adjectives to describe the size relationship between the two objects: más grande, más pequeño, más alto, más bajo, más ancho, and so on. For example, a student might say, “Mi lápiz es más largo que el borrador de Susana.” Discuss leprechauns with the class. Ask: Does anyone know what a leprechaun is? What do they look like? Do they bring good luck or bad luck? Are they real or imaginary?

Teaching Tips

Have children use rulers to measure the length and width of various objects. Ask them to record their answers and then compare the sizes of various objects using comparative adjectives.
